Dear Reader,
Someone once told me I was born with stardust in my soul, and I’d have to agree. Adventure and wonder have always been a part of me, having been born into a family who has reached the farthest corners of the earth and still we continue. My great grandfathers fought in the Second Great War, from flying Poltava and Operation Overlord and landing in Egypt for repairs to sailing aboard a cruiser in the Southern Pacific. Letters and photographs take me back to hundreds of years ago, reminding me of the English, Italian, Polish, German, French, Dutch, Nordic, and Cherokee blood that runs in my veins.
I’ve nearly drowned in a pool in Florida and a lake in South Dakota, have inhaled the tang of sulfur above an active volcano, and have stargazed from the fog-stained peaks of Jamaica.
So, yes, there is stardust in my soul, but I inherently believe it’s also in everyone else’s.
Humanity is flawed. Murderous. Diseased. Starving. But it is beautiful. And when you reach the edge of mankind, where the sun sets and the stars appear— that is where my writing rests.
I’ve seen it all— the good, the awful, and the in-between in both daily living and adventure, and I aim to show it all in both. That is my mission, that is my goal. My entire life, I’ve had wanderlust in my spirit, adventure in my blood, and stardust in my soul.
We all have that beauty within us, we just need to be brave enough to see it.
So, let's seek it out together. Let’s travel to the end of mankind and beyond, beyond the solar flares and past the furthest glimmering stars, to where eternity is a moment and our words live forever.
Are you coming?
~Kiki
